DoorDash Catering Alternatives: My $381.40 Dlivrd Week

Seven deliveries. $381.40. That is the Dlivrd week I reported in April 2025. The two-delivery Friday brought in $118.95. Those are the numbers that made catering worth a closer look for me.
The week worked out to $54.49 per delivery before expenses. That is pay per delivery, not an hourly rate: the original record does not include total working hours or mileage for the week. See the day-by-day breakdown below.

What I liked about these catering jobs
In my original account, I said getting orders the day before was one of my favorite parts. Knowing the pickup, destination and timing gave me something to plan around. That was how I described the work in April 2025; check the offers available to your account today.
The delivery notes below are more useful than a blanket claim that every catering run is easy. Tuesday included an office and a hospital. Wednesday included a corporate lunch setup. Those details matter when you work out how much of your day a payout will take.
My $381.40 Dlivrd week: the daily earnings
These are the daily figures from the week I reported in April 2025:

That is $381.40 across seven deliveries over five days. My original account also said I had time for Uber Eats between catering jobs. The table does not include those Uber Eats earnings.
What this week does and does not tell me
Friday was the biggest total at $118.95, but it took two deliveries. Wednesday paid $63.40 for one delivery and included setup. Comparing those payouts alone would leave out the actual work. Monday and Thursday have distance notes, but those two notes cannot establish the mileage for the whole week.
I would use this week as a reason to look at catering offers, then track the full time and mileage on the next ones. It does not establish that Dlivrd always pays more than DoorDash, or that every market has a steady supply of these jobs.
Where to start with catering delivery apps
Use the official Expedite website and its driver information to check the application process and availability. Its delivery services include catering as well as other types of work, so read the actual offer before assuming it is a catering order. Is a catering offer worth accepting?
A large order total does not tell you what the driver earns. Read the offered compensation, pickup and delivery times, package count and setup instructions. Then work through the whole trip:
- Travel to pickup: count the drive from where you actually start, not just the restaurant-to-customer distance.
- Pickup and loading: allow time to find parking, confirm all bags and drinks, and secure the load.
- Delivery access: check entrances, parking, stairs, elevators and the contact instructions.
- Setup and confirmation: include any requested arrangement of the food and delivery-photo steps.
- Travel afterward: consider where the job leaves you and the distance to your next work area.
How much time could my single-delivery payouts cover?
Use an illustrative target of $30 per hour before expenses to test the three days with one reported delivery. This is a chosen comparison target, not a claimed app rate. Dividing each payout by $30 gives the total time it could cover at that target:

Wednesday paid $17.65 more than Monday. At the same $30 hourly target, that extra money covers 35 minutes 18 seconds of additional work. Setup, access and waiting could use that time. The higher payout alone does not establish a better hourly result.
These limits must cover all the time assigned to the job, including travel to pickup, loading, delivery, setup and travel afterward. They exclude vehicle expenses and taxes. I did not record the actual total durations here, so this table cannot tell us whether any of the three deliveries met the target.
Use your own target: maximum total minutes = payout ÷ desired hourly amount × 60. To include vehicle costs before making the comparison, subtract your estimated whole-trip vehicle cost from the payout first. The 6-mile and 4-mile notes above do not establish whole-trip mileage.
